Some see the image of a bagel and a baguette holding hands as a symbol of love between Quebecers and their French cousins. Others prefer to see it simply as a playful wink ;)

"LOVE IS IN THE AIR" - created by the artist Petitom was first revealed to the public on December 1, 2021, during the International AIDS Day. At that time, LE CARTEL had partnered with the Montreal organization Sidalys to raise awareness among Montrealers about the fight against AIDS and its resurgence following the Covid-19 pandemic.

All profits from the sales of the initial design were donated to Sidalys, after which we decided to change its color and include it in our Hall of Fame.

Petitom is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Montreal. A graduate in graphic design from the Université du Québec à Montréal, he specializes in illustration and 2D animation. Thomas Bertrand served as Art Director at LE CARTEL from 2020 to 2024. He is also the creator of several designs for the brand, including the “HORS SÉRIES”, a collection of humorous pieces combining minimalist drawings with literary quotes. Thomas Bertrand’s artistic evolution is marked by a shift from a vibrant color palette to more restrained tones, emphasizing the expressiveness of the drawing and the impact of the illustration’s message. Often driven by the desire to provoke laughter—and always with the intent to get to the essence—Thomas shapes his visual world with clarity and wit.
