THE MONSTER
Originally from the city of Annecy, Benjamin Tran is a Franco-Canadian artist. His work is represented in the form of paintings, murals, drawings and sculptures.
"My work is expressed through illustration and most often, through the representation of characters. From subculture to popular science, I play with black and white composition, drawing different scenes of characters suspended in space and over time, absorbed by their activities, they allow themselves to be caught up in the game in a sort of deceleration, completely abandoning themselves to an activity that requires taking their time.
A very important dimension in my work, time does not constrain action, as is often the case in our hectic pace of life, but the opposite happens; the activity takes place over time without being affected by it. We thus access a sort of slowing down modeled on the rhythm of the planets, a speed which slows down and a gravity which settles in a freedom from time making all emancipation possible.
